Seain Cook is an elite beach volleyball athlete whose journey reflects both international experience and a deep-rooted passion for the game. Originally from Scotland, he was introduced to volleyball at a young age by his father, a member of the Scottish National indoor team. That early foundation helped shape a career that now spans both professional beach and indoor volleyball at the highest levels.

As a top competitor on the AVP tour, Seain has established himself within one of the fastest-growing areas of the sport. His playing career includes representing Great Britain in beach volleyball, competing professionally indoors, and participating in major international events such as the Commonwealth Games. His experience across multiple formats of the game gives him a well-rounded and strategic understanding of high-level competition.

Beyond his athletic accomplishments, Seain is known for his strong sense of identity and ability to connect with people from a wide range of backgrounds. Whether competing on iconic courts like Manhattan Beach or training the next generation, he brings energy, authenticity, and a genuine love for volleyball.

Off the court, Seain is equally dedicated to developing young athletes. As the head coach of a top high school beach volleyball program, he focuses on building not only skill, but also confidence, discipline, and a lasting appreciation for the game. His approach blends high-level training with a positive, engaging environment—reflecting his belief that athletes perform best when they enjoy the process.

MENG BAK

Meng Bak brings over a decade of coaching experience and a global perspective to the School of Volleyball. With more than 13 years in the sport, he has worked with athletes at every level—from beginners to collegiate players—helping them develop strong fundamentals, confidence, and a deeper understanding of the game.

Meng’s coaching journey has taken him across the world, including time spent in Phuket, Thailand, where his passion for beach volleyball continued to grow. His international experience includes working with athletes from diverse backgrounds, allowing him to communicate clearly, adapt his teaching style, and connect with players in a meaningful way.

Back in the U.S., Meng has been a key part of successful high school and club programs. At Bellevue High School, he served as a varsity assistant coach during a stretch that saw the team reach five consecutive district championship finals. He has also coached both beach and indoor volleyball with Northwest Juniors, developing athletes across all stages of their careers.

Meng later joined Northwest University’s beach volleyball program, where he helped build the foundation of a growing collegiate team before stepping into the role of head coach.

Known for his positive energy and ability to break down skills into simple, effective teaching points, Meng creates an environment where athletes can improve quickly while still enjoying the process. His approach emphasizes strong fundamentals, game awareness, and a love for competition.

Meng believes the best growth happens when athletes are both challenged and supported—and he’s committed to helping every player reach their full potential on and off the court.

STU CORNUTT

Stu Cornutt founded the School of Volleyball in 2025. Stu brings over 11 years of coaching experience and a passion for developing well-rounded athletes to the School of Volleyball. A Southern California CIF Champion in 2025, Stu has coached across a wide range of programs, including Sammamish High School, Wildwood High School, Northwest Juniors, Falcon Volleyball Club, and Pac 6 Volleyball Club.

Originally from Seattle, Stu currently resides in Brentwood CA and coaches at Wildwood HIghschool. Stu grew up playing at Alki Beach, where his love for beach volleyball began. That early connection to the game continues to shape his coaching style today, combining high-level training with a positive, energetic environment.

Stu has experience coaching both indoor and beach volleyball and has helped lead teams to deep postseason runs, including a Southern California CIF Championship in 2025 with Wildwood High School. His coaching focuses on building strong fundamentals, improving game IQ, and helping athletes compete with confidence.

In addition to his coaching background, Stu holds a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. He uses this training to create a supportive and motivating atmosphere where athletes can grow not only as players, but as teammates and individuals. His approach emphasizes skill development, mental resilience, and strong sportsmanship.

Coach Stu is dedicated to helping athletes improve, compete, and most importantly, develop a lasting love for the game of beach volleyball.

MARK BELTRAN

With over 35+ years of coaching experience in both indoor and outdoor volleyball, Mark has dedicated his career to developing athletes at every level—from beginners learning the game to elite competitors performing on national stages.

Mark’s volleyball journey began as a player at the University of Southern California (USC), where he competed as a defensive specialist from 1979–1983. He went on to serve as an assistant coach at USC from 1984–1989 under Hall of Fame coach Bob Yoder, contributing to two NCAA National Championship teams (1980 and 1988) with the USC Men’s Volleyball program.

Beyond coaching, Mark continued his involvement with the sport as a USC Volleyball internet radio announcer from 2011–2015, providing insight and analysis at the collegiate level. More recently, he has served as a varsity coach at Wildwood High School (2019–present), where he continues to develop competitive programs and guide young athletes.

In addition to team coaching, Mark leads Coach Beltran Beach Training and Conditioning, offering private lessons and small group clinics focused on skill development, athletic performance, and volleyball IQ. He also remains actively involved in competition, playing in tournaments with Seaside Volleyball along the Oregon Coast (2024–present).

Throughout his career, Mark has built a reputation for strong defensive training, detailed skill instruction, and a deep understanding of the game. His coaching philosophy centers on fundamentals, discipline, and helping athletes grow into confident, complete volleyball players.

Evan Dean

Coach Evan is a passionate volleyball player, coach, and lifelong student of the game who brings a well-rounded approach to athlete development. His coaching philosophy emphasizes strong fundamentals, discipline, and attention to detail while creating a positive, encouraging environment where players can build confidence, compete, and enjoy the process of improvement. Evan is committed to helping athletes reach their goals by combining technical instruction with mentorship and a genuine love for the sport.

For the past four years, Evan has coached at Wildwood High School, helping guide the program to significant success, including a CIF Championship and a State Semifinal appearance in 2025. His experience working with athletes of varying skill levels has allowed him to develop a coaching style that is both challenging and supportive, helping players maximize their potential on and off the court.

Evan's volleyball background spans both beach and indoor disciplines at the highest levels of youth competition. On the beach, he trained with the U17 Junior Olympic squad, competed in CBVA and Junior National tournaments, and had the opportunity to represent the United States in international competition in Russia. These experiences gave him valuable insight into elite-level training, competition, and the unique demands of beach volleyball.

Indoor volleyball has been equally significant in Evan's career. As a junior athlete, he earned three Junior Olympic gold medals with his club teams. During his senior year at Corona del Mar High School, he was part of a remarkable championship run that culminated in CIF, State, and National titles. He then continued his playing career at Pepperdine University under legendary coach Marv Dunphy, further deepening his understanding of high-level volleyball and player development.

In addition to his high school coaching experience, Evan has worked with several respected volleyball organizations, including Balboa Bay Volleyball Club, where he helped coach a team to a Junior Olympic silver medal, West Coast Volleyball Club, and Sinjin Smith Beach Volleyball Camps. Drawing from his extensive playing and coaching background, Evan strives to provide athletes with the technical skills, competitive mindset, and love for the game needed to succeed at every level.
